What is Reiki?
Reiki is a safe, practical ‘hands-on’ healing technique. Reiki is practiced by millions of people worldwide. Reiki originated in Japan. The technique was developed by Mikao Usui, for this reason it is sometimes called ‘Usui Reiki’. Reiki is initiatory. Once you receive the initiation you will be able to channel the Reiki or ‘universal life force energy’ yourself. This will open up the possibility for you to undertake healing – both of yourself and of others.
Reiki is a completely secular practice. You can practice Reiki irrespective of your own beliefs. To practice Reiki it is not necessary to believe in anything, even whether Reiki will work or not!
I have practiced Reiki daily since 1998. I undertook Reiki Teacher Training with William Rand, one of the world’s leading Reiki practitioners, in 2000. I have provided Reiki training and personal sessions for over 10 years.
I have facilitated and taught mindfulness meditation and rebirthing breathwork for the last 10 years. I also have over 35 years of experience with a broad range of energy based therapies and personal development practices including: karate, yoga, TM®, tai chi, as well as a broad range of energy psychology techniques – Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Tapas Acupressure technique (TAT).
